bun club at the Cavendish

Meet the remarkable scientific community behind the Cavendish Laboratory’s astonishing physics in this talk with Whipple Museum curator Dr Hannah Price.

Our current exhibition marks 150 years since the founding of the Cavendish Laboratory with some of the most important instruments from the Laboratory’s historic collection on display. In this talk, we’ll meet the people who used, created and built the instruments, and those who supported them. We’ll be thinking about the relationship between academics and technicians and what makes a scientific community tick, as well as…

  • What do tea and buns have to do with it?
  • Who was the “Don of the Day”?
  • And why is there a crocodile on the wall?

Free, no need to book. Suitable for ages 10+.
