Passionate about museums and the history of science? Join us as a volunteer!
We also have great opportunities for work experience placements in the museum.
Volunteering
Volunteers play a significant role at the Whipple, helping out with events, audience research and taught sessions. You don’t need to have any previous experience in order to get involved with volunteering at the Whipple, although enthusiasm about the History of Science and museums and heritage is encouraged. We have an excellent team of volunteers, and hugely appreciate the time they give up to help us fulfil our aims.
Training will be provided for each role, and volunteers will be encouraged to take on new tasks when opportunities arise.
Find all current opportunities from the Whipple and the other University of Cambridge Museums on the opportunities page.
Work experience
Wondered what it’s like to work in a museum? If you’re aged 14 – 18 and interested in experiences in different museums, the University of Cambridge Museums also offer work experience taster days and placements across the year. Find out more about how to apply on the opportunities page.
