After-hours sketching at the Whipple Museum
Free - Donate What You Can!

Thursday 18 September, 5.30-7.30pm

Ever fancied sketching among telescopes, globes, and centuries-old scientific instruments? Step into Cambridge University's home for the history of science for a relaxed and creative evening.

This is the third Whipple Scribble session. Whether you're a seasoned artist or simply curious to try something new, all abilities are welcome. It's free to join, open to all, and a great way to connect with fellow creatives in the Cambridge area.

At 5:30pm, there’ll be a short, optional introduction to the Whipple led by our Learning Coordinator, Alison Giles. This 20-minute tour offers a brief overview of the museum and its collection. You're welcome to skip the tour if you'd prefer to go straight to sketching.

  • What to bring: We’ll provide basic materials such as paper and pencils. Feel free to bring your favourite sketchbook or dry media. Please note: paints and watercolours are not permitted in the galleries for conservation reasons.
  • Do I need to book? Yes, please! Booking helps us plan the space and materials. Tickets are free, and donations are warmly welcomed. Your support helps keep events like Whipple Scribble running—enabling us to offer more after-hours activities, host more public events, and continue enhancing the visitor experience.

Book your tickets here.
If you're no longer able to attend, please cancel your booking so that someone else can take your place
