SATURDAY 20 SEPTEMBER IS 1618 DAY AT THE WHIPPLE!  

In honour of our beautiful Jacobean building, originally Cambridge’s Free School, we’re exploring everything 17th-century, from historic scientific instruments to the secrets of our building. We’re open all day with family activities, curator talks and behind-the-scenes tours.

Forsooth, gentles, it will be a merry meeting!

11-12pm Practical science in 1618 with Director Dr Joshua Nall 

1.30-2.30pm Bridging binaries tour - LGBQT+ history of science 

2.30-3.30pm Children’s activities: the Great Comet of 1618!

2.30-3.15pm Secrets of Free School Lane: a walking tour with Curator Dr Hannah Price

No booking required, just drop-in and enjoy (places are limited for some events).
